We want to provide a place for young writers to be able to gain credibility for their work. For this there is always the opportunity for the people to either be published in the journal, come on the podcast to be interviewed or apply for staff.

These allow for people to gain experience and or credibility for themselves as an author or professional within the writing world.

We have an rolling deadline for both the podcast and seasonal lit journals, but the themed journals will typically be only a month between submissions.

The Hal Poetry & Prose Prize

The contest was created to encourage and appreciate artistic expression through various literary forms and photography. The contest has showcased works from individuals of all ages and backgrounds – novice writers and photographers to professionals. The Hal Prize offers prizes and publication in four categories: Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and photography. Each year, judges of differing areas of expertise are chosen to read through the entries and select a first, second and third place, along with honorable mentions.

Bloom Magazine is an online and seasonally print magazine. Loosely centered around the idea of growth, Bloom is an online and (seasonally) in print magazine. Founded by editor, Lauren Burns in 2020 over multiple lockdowns, we cover: Fashion & Beauty, Film, Interviews, Creative Writing, Music, Love & Relationships, Opinions and Health & Wellbeing. And, of course, we are always looking for art and photography to go alongside our writing.

Fischer Cantor Poetry Prize Contest

Founded in 1997 to honor a beloved Telluride poet who died young, the 23rd Annual Fischer Prize is a national poetry contest open to English language writers of all ages living in the U.S. or to U.S. citizens living overseas. All styles and subject matter are welcome. Deadline for the contest is the last day of August each year. Winners are announced in October. Prizes include $1000 Fischer Prize winner, $500 Cantor Prize winner, and five $200 Fischer Prize finalist awards. The 2021 Fischer Cantor Prize Contest is now open for submissions.
